We are thrilled to pay tribute today to Charles Ghent, one of our esteemed Edafio colleague and an associate spotlight for May.
With so many of us working remotely, yet there being the comings and goings of staff that are part of every dynamic organization, it can be challenging to get to know our coworkers better as people. We have to be mindful that our company culture thrives on people as much as their technical skills!
As such we are finding that our periodic interviews with associates allow us to acknowledge and celebrate the beautiful life stories, amazing professional accomplishments, and even the little quirks that make us uniquely wonderful human beings. We hope you find each Edafio associate story as inspiring as we do in gathering and sharing them.
What drew you to this profession? When I was younger, my father taught me how to build and work on PCs. Then when making my choice for college, I was offered a student worker position for the IT department for Arkansas Tech University. It made my decision to follow that passion much easier.
Charles Ghent is the epitome of customer service. His focus and commitment to our client’s success is a direct reflection of Edafio’s core values. His ‘can-do’ attitude and willingness to work with others makes him a great engineer. Charles always has his hand in numerous projects, and he’s able to deliver the expertise to push them towards completion. We are proud to have him on the Edafio team!

What do you like to do in your free time? I enjoy getting my friends and family together for board game nights!
If you could spend one day with anyone in the world who would it be? My answer may seem odd; However, since my family is spread far apart, my wish would be to spend the day with my entire family together.
When was the last time you did something for the first time? Quarantine can be a time of learning, self-reflection and personal discovery. That being said, is there anything you would like to share that COVID-19 and this quarantine has taught you? I recently started gardening with my partner during this time of social distancing, which has been a first for me!
Everyone at Edafio has a story about why they joined the team. What’s yours? My former employer hired Edafio for an assessment. While working with their team during that time, they offered me a job as a systems engineer. It was a fantastic opportunity, and I happily accepted the position.
Thank you for sharing more about yourself with our colleagues, clients, and community, Charles!
