We are thrilled to pay tribute to Colby Waites one of our June Associate Spotlight and esteemed TOC Engineer.
The comings and goings of staff are a part of every dynamic organization; therefore, it can be challenging to get to know our coworkers better as people, especially coming out of a time of social distancing. We have to be mindful that our company culture thrives on our exceptional people as much as their outstanding technical skills. As such, we are finding that our periodic interviews with associates allow us to acknowledge and celebrate the beautiful life stories, extraordinary professional accomplishments, and even the little quirks that make us uniquely beautiful human beings.
We hope you find each Edafio associate story as inspiring as we do in gathering and sharing them.

How long have you worked at Edafio, and what does your job entail?
November will be three years at Edafio. I serve as the TOC team lead at Conway Regional.
What do you like most about your job?
What I like most about my job is the team that I get to work with. There are so many opportunities to learn new skills and be a part of projects that I feel like I never stop learning.
I’ve had the pleasure to work with Colby for nearly three years now. He quickly earned my trust, displaying his technical skills through several strategic projects, which ultimately created better system stability for the client. In no time, Colby became our “go-to” audiovisual (AV) resource as well. His knowledge in this space has catapulted our client’s ability to stream remote town hall meetings. He has played a vital role in implementing our telemedicine solution. He has consulted on numerous technology needs for new construction projects where AV is a critical element of the new space. Colby has a quiet yet very personal demeanor about him that injects trust with those he comes in contact with. He is very approachable to both our clients and his peers. Colby is a great resource for Edafio and a major reason for our success! –

What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
Don’t be afraid to ask. I’ve learned working at Edafio/CRHS that if I get stuck on an issue, there is usually someone I can reach out to. Also, asking questions leads to more opportunities to better yourself.
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
I have a degree in Marketing, and in high school, I toured the University of Texas’s film school. Most likely something in multimedia.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
Spend time with my family. Video Games. Garden/projects around the house. I also run sound and volunteer at my church.
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I started working full time in IT at 17
If you could meet anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Past Colby, so I could tell him to buy Bitcoin.
Everyone at Edafio has a story about why they joined the team. What’s yours?
I worked at a business that had hired Edafio for a project. So getting exposed to the people who worked at Edafio and the culture they had made me realize this was a place I wanted to be.
