We are thrilled to pay tribute to Chris O’Quin one of our May Associate Spotlight and esteemed Systems Engineer.
The comings and goings of staff are a part of every dynamic organization; therefore, it can be challenging to get to know our coworkers better as people, especially coming out of a time of social distancing. We have to be mindful that our company culture thrives on our exceptional people as much as their outstanding technical skills. As such, we are finding that our periodic interviews with associates allow us to acknowledge and celebrate the beautiful life stories, extraordinary professional accomplishments, and even the little quirks that make us uniquely beautiful human beings.
We hope you find each Edafio associate story as inspiring as we do in gathering and sharing them.

How long have you worked at Edafio, and what does your job entail?
I have worked at Edafio for 2.5 years, and I am full-time at Arkansas heart hospital, providing Server/storage infrastructure support for Arkansas Heart Hospital.
What do you like most about your job?
I love finding ways to bring new features or capabilities to the hospital to provide a better end-user experience or make things easier for those that come after me.
What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
Don’t forget to check the simple, obvious things for a resolution. Computers are fickle. It’s always DNS.
Chris embodies our commitment to our client’s success. He has developed strong relationships at AHH, and they recognize him as a top-trusted advisor. He is also a strong leader among his peers, where he leads our ITglue Implementation Committee. Thanks for everything you do, Chris.
Trevor Bates, Field Team Lead
What is your motto?
Do no harm. Realize the actions you take can affect the end-user experience. Doing so allows you a chance to double and triple-check things to ensure they are right. It’s better to take the time and effort to be sure than to be fast and make changes that can cause downtime.
What is the one thing you can’t live without?
White Cheddar Cheetos.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
I love relaxing with family and friends outdoors. I have a terrible habit of never taking time to disconnect, so anything that lets me do that is fantastic.
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
Not sure about fun, but my right hip is artificial. I had a Bone marrow transplant 11 years ago to cure me of Aplastic Anemia. The fall out from that deteriorated my right femur. Today I am perfectly healthy, so it’s a bit of a miracle. That experience had a big impact on my life. I think it gave me the ability not to sweat the small stuff as much and truly appreciate how wonderful life is.
Quarantine can be a time of learning, self-reflection and personal discovery. That said, is there anything you would like to share that COVID-19 and this quarantine have taught you?
It taught me I do not have the patience needed to facilitate Online Kindergarten 🙂
Three words to best describe you:
Friendly, Goofy and Loyal
Everyone at Edafio has a story about why they joined the team. What’s yours?
I worked with Randy Powell in the past and was looking to advance in my career. He and I had talked on and off for about a year. Eventually, we got lunch, and he sold me on Edafio. It was the best decision I made, and I have been much happier working for Edafio and love that I get to work with a hospital. I enjoy working with Joseph Dunn as my Edafio Mentor and hope to keep that going for a long time.
Edafio is always looking for exceptional candidates to join our team. For an opportunity to work with folks like Chris, be sure to visit our careers page to learn more.
