We are thrilled to pay tribute to our February Associate Spotlight and Healthcare specialist, Lori Brockinton who play an integral part in sharing expertise, giving advice, and guiding our healthcare clients to make strategic business decisions that promote growth, improve efficiencies and protect their clinics and patients.
The comings and goings of staff are a part of every dynamic organization; therefore, it can be challenging to get to know our coworkers better as people, especially in a time of social distancing. We have to be mindful that our company culture thrives on our exceptional people as much as their outstanding technical skills. As such, we are finding that our periodic interviews with associates allow us to acknowledge and celebrate the beautiful life stories, extraordinary professional accomplishments, and even the little quirks that make us uniquely beautiful human beings.

How long have you worked at Edafio, and what does your job entail?
I am a Healthcare Consultant and part of the Cybersecurity team. I work in various EMR Systems to help my clients with Quality Payment Programs and utilize their systems to their best capabilities. I also help with our Security Awareness Program, Risk Assessments and HIPAA compliance.
What do you like most about your job?
Knowing have done my job to the best of my ability and made a difference for our clients to allow them to spend more quality time with their patients.
WHAT IS THE BEST CAREER LESSON YOU’VE LEARNED SO FAR?
Be confident in my knowledge, and don’t get easily intimidated.
I admire how Lori jumps in and rolls up her sleeves to help our clients.

Her ability to teach all levels of the healthcare staff how to document quality metrics /reporting, medical chart and billing guidelines properly are exceptional and hard to find.
Our clients and I appreciate her dedication to staying up to date on the healthcare industry’s insurance and regulatory requirements and holding the electronic medical records software vendors accountable!
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO WHEN YOU AREN’T WORKING?
I help one of my best friends run a clothing boutique, and I love watching my daughter barrel race and watching my son play college baseball, but an injury along with COVID forced him to quit.
WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO OR PERSONAL MANTRA?
Never judge someone by the first impression. You never know what they may be going through. Give grace and second chances.

I found myself out of a job due to a chronic illness and an employer unwilling to work around it. A former peer-recommended Edafio to launch Healthcare Consulting services. The support and grace Keith and Kenny showed me made it a no-brainer. They went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of, and Edafio immediately felt like a family to me. That was the best decision I ever made.
