We are thrilled to pay tribute to Jana Jernigan, Edafio’s ConnectWise guru, sales operations manager and April Associate Spotlight!
The comings and goings of staff are a part of every dynamic organization; therefore, it can be challenging to get to know our coworkers better as people, especially during a time of social distancing. We have to be mindful that our company culture thrives on our exceptional people as much as their outstanding technical skills. As such, we are finding that our periodic interviews with associates allow us to acknowledge and celebrate the beautiful life stories, extraordinary professional accomplishments, and even the little quirks that make us uniquely beautiful human beings.
We hope you find each Edafio associate story as inspiring as we do in gathering and sharing them.
How long have you worked at Edafio and what does your job entail?
I first started at JPMS Cox (Edafio’s founding company) in November 2003. Soon after, I started working on Edafio billing, financials and quoting but wasn’t officially an Edafio employee until January 2007. So 14 – 17 years, depending on how you look at it. I have done all of the finance and admin jobs at one point or another. My current role is sales operations manager. I calculate profitability on agreements, set up new contracts and projects, assist with agreement renewals.
Jana is a rare mix of deep organizational experience with a willingness to try new things that will grow the business. She was willing to step into a new role for her and Edafio as our Sales Operations Manager, and has quickly started to master the role. She is a tremendous asset to Edafio!
Mark Hodges, VP of Sales and Client Management
What do you like most about your job?
The people I work with
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
My degree is in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I started at Edafio/JPMS Cox not long after college, so I never pursued it after finding that I enjoyed my job so much.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
I enjoy crafting, reading and exploring waterfalls. Since Covid and getting a Jeep, our family has taken more local trips to waterfalls, swimming holes and trails.
What’s a fun fact about you that many people may not know?
I met my husband because of Edafio! Everyone that has been here a long time knows, of course. In 2007, Neal introduced me to a client of ours that I had a lot in common with. We were married six months later!
Where’s your favorite place in the world?
Any warm weather beach!
Everyone at Edafio has a story about why they joined the team. What’s yours?
I worked in pharmacies all through college. When I graduated, Walgreens asked me to move to Little Rock to become a store manager after a training period. I moved here and was the night manager at the Markham & Bowman store. After having a child, I needed something with daytime hours. The wife of one of our pharmacists worked at JPMS Cox and had me come interview. David Mosley and Gene Scott hired me soon after. I processed tax returns for the first year, then started doing Edafio billing, financials and quoting. JPMS Cox and Edafio were both out of space, so Edafio decided to move out. The guys (and it was all guys then) were easy to get along with, and they always included me in everything. I didn’t hesitate to go with them.
Edafio is always looking for exceptional candidates to join our team. For an opportunity to work with folks like Jana, be sure to visit our careers page to learn more.
