We are thrilled to pay tribute to Katie Grayham, our October Associate Spotlight and the Controller at Edafio.
The comings and goings of staff are a part of every dynamic organization; therefore, it can be challenging to get to know our coworkers better as people, especially in a time of social distancing. We have to be mindful that our company culture thrives on our exceptional people as much as their outstanding technical skills. As such, we are finding that our periodic interviews with associates allow us to acknowledge and celebrate the beautiful life stories, extraordinary professional accomplishments, and even the little quirks that make us uniquely beautiful human beings.
We hope you find each Edafio associate story is as inspiring as we do in gathering and sharing them.

How long have you worked at Edafio, and what does your job entail?
In January, I’ll have been at Edafio for two years. I’m Edafio’s Controller, which, in a short and sweet version, entails leading the Finance & Administration team. I also oversee client invoicing, closing the financial books every month, and assisting the CFO as needed with analysis, budgeting, forecasting, as well as being a participant of Edafio’s Executive Leadership Team.
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
I would be a chef in a kitchen somewhere…I love to cook!
WHERE’S YOUR FAVORITE PLACE IN THE WORLD?
Anywhere on vacation with my family.
Katie has made a huge impact on Edafio since she joined the team in 2020. Her care for both clients and team members is evident in all that she does and her leadership on the finance team truly keeps the Edafio wheels turning. I’m extremely grateful to have her on the team.
Brian Hutchins, CFO
Who or what made you smile at work today?
I have a story to share about fellow employees on Teams call pretending they couldn’t hear me and vice versa, and it turned out to be a funny little joke that made us all laugh!
EVERYONE AT EDAFIO HAS A STORY ABOUT WHY THEY JOINED THE TEAM. WHAT’S YOURS?
While I wasn’t necessarily “job hunting” in the fall of 2019, I did have a strong desire to someday join a company with a culture and environment that was above and beyond any place I’d worked before. Through word of mouth, I’d heard wonderful things about Edafio, and so when I happened to stumble across the Asst Controller job opportunity, I applied immediately. Not only have I found an employer that is the “Chick-Fil-A” of IT I’ve also found a place where I can use my previous accounting background and experience and build new skills.
Edafio is always looking for exceptional candidates to join our team. For an opportunity to work with folks like Katie, be sure to visit our careers page to learn more.
