In every highly successful and dynamic business, a treasure trove of dedicated individuals come together as a team to create success. However, amidst the day-to-day demands of work, the essence and true spirit of such an exceptional team can sometimes be overlooked. What sets Edafio apart is the outstanding associates, each bringing a diverse range of skills and presence to the organization, contributing to its uniqueness and success. Through our associate spotlight interviews, we have the privilege of sharing their remarkable professional achievements, and the meaningful stories, that have shaped their lives. We take pride at Edafio in illuminating the incredible uniqueness of our fellow associates. Our hope is that, just as we were inspired during the process of gathering their stories, you too will find a source of inspiration in our Associate Spotlights. Today we are delighted to recognize Patti Christensen, an invaluable and exceptional asset to the Edafio Team, as one of our esteemed August Associate Spotlights. Let’s take this opportunity to get to know Patti a little better!
What initially attracted you to join Edafio, and how has your experience been so far?
Edafio had found me through a temp agency. Edafio was the first company to give me an offer and not think I was completely crazy for quitting my job in Phoenix, selling our house, and moving the family to somewhere completely new! It has been great. The team and flexibility really make it worth it.
What motivates and inspires you in your work?
Chaos and Coffee!
Are there any hobbies or special talents that you enjoy outside of work?
Woodworking, painting and making home décor. Lately it has been finishing up the fixer upper we purchased in March.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I would like to finish out visiting the remaining 20 states in the US that I haven’t been to. Lots of travel hockey as a kid going all over the US and Canada.
Are there any causes or charities that you are passionate about? Why are they important to you?
Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. My grandmother passed from Alzheimer’s and my uncle is currently in the fight with Parkinson’s. I’m also a believer in being an organ donor. My brother passed when he was 20 and I would love to meet some of the people he was able to make an impact on by being a donor.
How do you approach work-life balance and manage your time effectively?
Kind of like eating an elephant, one bite at a time. As a wife, a mom of 2 girls and 4 dogs, it’s always chaos. And work doesn’t let up either. Taking it day by day and enjoying all of the learning moments in between.
What’s one skill or knowledge area that you’re currently working on improving?
Communication.
Can you share a favorite quote or mantra that resonates with you?
“If you think you can, you can. If you think you can’t, you’re right.”
What’s your favorite thing about the culture and environment at Edafio?
The people. I remember my first few weeks and thinking “Man, everyone is so nice. Is this just Arkansas or Edafio?”
“Patti continues to be a valued team member of F & A, and Edafio as a whole. She’s proactive about aiming to find solutions to issues during this time, when Edafio is moving quickly, and needs that the most. Her laugh is contagious as is her passion for wanting to commit to do what’s best for our clients, and our company. So, so grateful to have Patti here!”
