We are thrilled to pay tribute to our August Associate Spotlight, Tanner Milligan. Tanner works on our Edafio’s Network Operation Center. and has a love of art, animals and Neil Gaiman.
The comings and goings of staff are a part of every dynamic organization; therefore, it can be challenging to get to know our coworkers better as people. We have to be mindful that our company culture thrives on our exceptional people and their outstanding technical skills. As such, we are finding that our periodic interviews with associates allow us to acknowledge and celebrate the beautiful life stories, extraordinary professional accomplishments, and even the little quirks that make us uniquely beautiful human beings.
We hope you find each Edafio associate story as inspiring as we do in gathering and sharing them.
How long have you worked at Edafio, and what does your job entail?
I started at Edafio in January of 2022 and currently work in the Network Operations Center, helping clients troubleshoot their IT issues.
What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
The best career lesson I’ve learned so far is to measure or check something somewhere between 9 and 12 times and apprehensively apply settings changes once, but only after measuring again, to be sure.
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
If I weren’t doing IT work, I would have followed my original pursuits and gone into the arts. I always have some painting project on a canvas or a D&D miniature that I have printed. However, I could not do the starving artist route as I like food too much. Another equally likely outcome would’ve been the automotive industry.
anner joined our Team in January of this year and he truly hit the ground running. He was an instant fit into the culture of our Team and has really be a huge benefit to our 24×7 NOC Team. Our clients repeatedly respond to the client satisfaction survey and give Tanner high praise for his ability to address their issue in a kind and caring manner. Tanner is always quick with the jokes to help lighten any mood. Even though his daughter frequently keeps him up at night, he successfully yawns his way through the day and does everything he can to help the NOC Team continually be successful.

What is your Crystal Knows Type?
Harmonizer. They tend to be inviting, enthusiastic, and talkative. They often seek social interaction and frequently engage others in conversation. They love getting to know new people but also like to invest deeply in their existing friendships.
What’s your favorite place in the world?
My favorite place in the world used to be Dublin, Ireland. I’ve gone three times and usually count down the pennies until I can get to go back. My favorite destination has been replaced with spending time with my wife and 2-year-old in our living room. I would not change that for anything (Even if she does rule the house like a Totalitarian Dictator).
If you could meet anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
And if there is one person in the world I could meet, it would be Neil Gaiman. I have destroyed two copies of American Gods from the multiple rereads. He’s about the only author who writes in a way that makes me hang onto the words. I must be cautious with his books, as the number of times I’ve looked up from his book I’ve started to see the sun rising is staggering.
What’s a fun fact about you that many people may not know?
Something that a few people know about me is that we have many animals. I was a Veterinary Technician in a previous life and acquired a few pets as an outcome. We currently have two dogs, three cats, two chinchillas, and a horse. I’ve also had snakes, birds, and a couple of other smaller pets over the years.
Everyone at Edafio has a story about why they joined the team. What’s yours?
My story of joining the Edafio team started with a client I used to work with. I routinely worked with Chris O’Quin, Alan Grubbs, and Joseph Dunn while at the client. After working with these fellows for about a year, I decided I needed to get into Edafio post-haste.
Edafio is always looking for exceptional candidates to join our team. For an opportunity to work with folks like Tanner, visit our careers page to learn more.
