We wanted to let you know about an immediate cyber threat that the DynaRisk Cyber Intelligence Team has reported.
Russian hacker groups, KillNet, REvil and NoName057, infamously known for targeting businesses with ransomware and DDoS attacks, have recently issued a statement encouraging other hackers to participate in a collective attack against the US and EU SWIFT systems (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication). This announcement indicates that an imminent attack is expected to commence within the next 48 hours.
DynaRisk has gathered data that shows that REvil alone has confirmed 290 previous attacks on businesses across various industries worldwide, including Law, Automotive, Banking, Food, Retail, and Real Estate. These attacks have taken place in different regions around the world, including the UK, US, East Asia, Central and Southern Europe, Australia, and Africa.
To help protect clients everywhere, DynaRisk recommends advising them to review their security protocols and update their systems with the latest patches. Encourage the use of 2FA wherever possible and advise that they reinforce their network defenses. They should also research ways to protect themselves from DDoS attacks.
It’s important to ensure that their employees are also aware of the current threat landscape and practicing good cybersecurity hygiene. This includes being cautious of suspicious emails or attachments. If you need more information, advice, or assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact DynaRisk at [email protected], or visit Edafio.
