We are thrilled to pay tribute to our May Associate Spotlight, Henry Hill, aka an IT therapist, who has a zest and passion for IT and helping people work through their tech troubles.
The comings and goings of staff are a part of every dynamic organization; therefore, it can be challenging to get to know our coworkers better as people. We have to be mindful that our company culture thrives on our exceptional people and their outstanding technical skills. As such, we are finding that our periodic interviews with associates allow us to acknowledge and celebrate the beautiful life stories, extraordinary professional accomplishments, and even the little quirks that make us uniquely beautiful human beings.
We hope you find each Edafio associate story as inspiring as we do in gathering and sharing them.
How long have you worked at Edafio, and what does your job entail?
I am about to celebrate my third anniversary at Edafio! I started around this time in 2019 on the Help Desk but quickly transitioned to the Edafio IT team at Conway Regional as an IT Manager.
What do you like most about your job?
What I enjoy most about my job is seeing the impact IT can have on different places of business and fixing the little things to make end users’ days better!
What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
The best career lesson I’ve learned is that there is a lot of value in staying silent and listening.
I think diligent and ambitious best describe Henry. Henry consistently over-delivers, he is always willing to assist. Henry quickly becomes the go-to person on any team he works on.
Ryan Brown, Operations Center Team Lead
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
If I.T. hadn’t become something I enjoyed daily, my childhood dream career was to be a sports show analyst/host or host a tech YouTube channel!
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
I enjoy spending my time outside and being active, whether that be weight lifting, hiking, disc golf, or spending time on the water paddleboarding!
What’s a fun fact about you that many people may not know?
Many may not know a fun fact about myself that many may not know is that I’m an avid reader! From a young age, fiction consumed my life, and I always had a book in my hand. That eventually worked its way into reading more incisive works.
What is your motto or personal mantra?
A motto or personal mantra that I live by is tomorrow is always a new day. I live relatively carefree and don’t let my burdens weigh me down/carry over. I am very optimistic and opportunistic!
If you could meet anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
The individual I would like to meet is Elon Musk. Separate from the money and business endeavors, he has a curious mind. I find him a fascinating person and someone I feel would have some rather intriguing conversations.
What are three words to best describe you?
Independent. Goal-driven. Intentional.
What is the one thing you can’t live without?
Something I can’t live without is likely coffee, in any form or variance. Whether I have cold brew in the fridge, a French press or a quick double espresso, I’m almost always starting my day with coffee.
EVERYONE AT EDAFIO HAS A STORY ABOUT WHY THEY JOINED THE TEAM. WHAT’S YOURS?
I was finishing up my first year of college while working as a student worker at a client of ours. During most of my sophomore year, I worked singlehandedly with some help from Edafio. Chris O’Quin was the engineer who came on-site once a week and assisted me with any issues I hadn’t resolved or needed help with. Seeing his eagerness to work with and educate a younger person like myself, but at the same time, not discrediting me for my age and respecting me as an IT Engineer, really showed me they were a great place of work. Once I wrapped up my sophomore year of college, I met with a few people at Edafio to discuss job opportunities. Once again, they saw me as a competent candidate applying for an engineering role and not just a 20-year-old college kid. Being respected and not judged for being so young sold me on wanting to work at Edafio, and here I am 3 years later, happy as day one to be on this team!
Edafio is always looking for exceptional candidates to join our team. For an opportunity to work with folks like Henry, visit our careers page to learn more.
