We are thrilled to pay tribute today to Sam Grubb, one of Edafio’s esteemed Cybersecurity consultants, and an associate spotlight for August.
The comings and goings of staff are a part of every dynamic organization; therefore, it can be challenging to get to know our coworkers better as people, especially during a time of social distancing. We have to be mindful that our company culture thrives on our exceptional people as much as their outstanding technical skills!
As such, we are finding that our periodic interviews with associates allow us to acknowledge and celebrate the beautiful life stories, amazing professional accomplishments, and even the little quirks that make us uniquely beautiful human beings.
We hope you find each Edafio associate story as inspiring as we do in gathering and sharing them.
What drew you to this profession?
I really like the puzzle aspect of figuring out how best to secure something or what happened during an incident.
Have any favorite quotes?
“I’m going to live forever or die trying.” – Yossarian from Catch-22
What do you like to do in your free time?
Write and play video games. I also do Gundam model kits….its an anime and they make little kits of the robots…yeah let’s pretend I didn’t put that in.
Sam is such a pleasure and true gem to have at Edafio as a cybersecurity consultant for our clients and I can’t imagine our team now without Sam just one short year later.
He is one of those professionals that you feel like you have been working with a long time when, in reality, it’s not been that long. His passion for helping others grow and learn about cybersecurity, as well as being a great communicator is inspiring!

What is one miracle large or small that has occurred in your life?
When I was three years old, living in Germany, I was pretending to be a ninja turtle and cut the cord to my mother’s sewing machine while it was plugged in. This was the late 80s, and the machine was probably from the 70s, so that cord had a fair amount of voltage going through it. It melted two holes in the scissor blades, but the handle was plastic, so it prevented me from being electrocuted.
Who or what inspires you?

You can thank Cheryl Hearne for me being at Edafio. I was not sure about applying, but I saw she was an employee and reached out to her about that job. I decided to apply because she said the company was so amazing. I am delighted I did!
