We are thrilled to pay tribute today to Chuck Sanford, one of Edafio’s esteemed Systems Engineer and an associate spotlight for October.
The comings and goings of staff are a part of every dynamic organization; therefore, it can be challenging to get to know our coworkers better as people, especially during a time of social distancing. We have to be mindful that our company culture thrives on our exceptional people as much as their outstanding technical skills.
As such, we are finding that our periodic interviews with associates allow us to acknowledge and celebrate the beautiful life stories, extraordinary professional accomplishments, and even the little quirks that make us uniquely beautiful human beings.

What drew you to this profession?
When I was 12 years old my dad opened the first Apple computer store in Arkansas called “Bits and Byte”, and I was fascinated with computers since then.
Do you have a favorite quote?
Being ex-military, I like “Lead from the front.”
What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy BB Q’ing and entertaining.

Get away from what I am trying to do and distract myself with something new.
What would be impossible for you to give up?
Not sure about this one as I have found out that change is always possible. I guess family would be my best answer.
What do you consider your most defining moment?
There are several, but I would say one that sticks with me is that I am scared of heights and overcame that fear in the Army when I had to repel down a four-story tower.
What would you do if you had no fear?

Family
Quarantine can be a time of learning, self-reflection, and personal discovery. That said, is there anything you would like to share that COVID-19 and this quarantine has taught you?
I find quarantine a hindrance and a setback. I am a social person by nature. Not having that avenue. I find myself looking for distractions.

I realized I needed to change from working for the largest fortune 500 company where I was on call 24/7 and missing family time. Edafio stood out in the IT business world because of their culture. Its core values are what drew me to them. Edafio doesn’t just say it; they live it.
