We are thrilled to pay tribute to Louis Moore, one of Edafio’s esteemed consulting Network Engineer and associate spotlight for February.
The comings and goings of staff are a part of every dynamic organization; therefore, it can be challenging to get to know our coworkers better as people, especially during a time of social distancing. We have to be mindful that our company culture thrives on our exceptional people as much as their outstanding technical skills. As such, we are finding that our periodic interviews with associates allow us to acknowledge and celebrate the beautiful life stories, extraordinary professional accomplishments, and even the little quirks that make us uniquely beautiful human beings.
We hope you find each Edafio associate story as inspiring as we do in gathering and sharing them.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My first real IT-ish job was almost 20 years ago with Acxiom working with Mainframe Tape operations at backup tape mounter to later a mainframe operator. Between that time and now, I have worked in State Government, a Fortune 500 Financial Tech company, and a smaller local financial company before joining Edafio. My career has allowed me to learn from the best engineers and experience many technologies and brands of technologies.
I am blessed with an amazing wife who is a Special Ed teacher for a local school district and with three fantastic boys, our oldest is 15, and we have 10-year-old twins. We also have four Dobermans and numerous barn cats running around our place.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to be outdoors with the family from cycling, hiking, and exploring less-traveled areas. Since the Covid quarantine started, we mostly stay and work around our house, but we make an effort to go hiking at state parks like Mount Magazine and biking on the river trail.
Who or what inspires you?
I am inspired to do what is best for my client. I never want someone to come behind me and have an issue because of the quality of my work. A significant component of my job is assisting clients with technical problems that could have been avoided if the previous staff had handled the issue differently. I aspire to do it right the first time.
Describe your proudest moment at Edafio so far.
My proudest moments are when my customers achieve their goals. For example, shortly after the pandemic happened and businesses were transitioning to work from home. I felt proud and confident in assuring our clients that we could provide them with the high-quality level of service they had come to expect from Edafio.
Fortunately, we purchased plenty of licensing during the last refresh just in case a mass flu or something else came along.
It felt good reassuring them that we had all the resources to fit their staff with the right technology and remote access support needed to be productive and connected while working remotely. We built a VPN solution that could handle their IT infrastructure. The systems team had already deployed VMware Horizon and, we had an answer for owned assets and BYOD.
Everyone at Edafio has a story about why they joined the team. What’s yours?
I had just completed a rebuilt and relocation of local companies, data centers and only purchased by a private equity firm. I was looking to move on to a new challenge and look at an offer to go back to my previous employer when the Edafio opportunity came up. I have known Brent Saunders for close to 20 years, but the thing that made me say yes was when I met Keith Woodruff. My uncertainties about coming to work for an MSP were put to rest after breakfast with Keith and Brent. The best part of working for an MSP is I get to help so many customers and industries that I would not get to if I was working for a Fortune 500 company. My designs and experience benefit small to large companies, and when they succeed, it is a gratifying feeling.
Edafio is always looking for exceptional candidates to join our team. For an opportunity to work with folks like Louis, be sure to visit our careers page to learn more.
